More Cuteness

This picture was taken today at what was supposed to be Lauren's nap time. She had fallen asleep after I fed her, so I took her upstairs to nap in her crib. Well, she slept for about 3 minutes then popped her head up and started crawling around. I was putting laundry away and walked in to find her being very cute. She looks very happy in this picture, but she was really very tired. I tried to let her fall back asleep on her own, but it wasn't happening so I took her downstairs to snuggle and she fell asleep fast. She hadn't had a very good afternoon nap for a couple of days so she really needed it. She falls asleep so much faster/easier at night when she's had a good afternoon nap.
Yet another new favorite picture of mine! She is just too cute for words sometimes!
Another picture with her pink bath towel. I love her shiny nose.

The Escaping Baby!

Lauren is crawling ALL OVER! She's quick now too! I snapped this picture and it makes me laugh every time I look at it. Apparently she had somewhere to be. :) She also likes to chase the dogs around and pull on their tails. (She is following behind Cooper as I type this.)

Lauren got her RSV shot last Thursday 3/25. Hopefully this will be her last one for the season. She weighed 17lbs 4.5oz!! She had to get the shot in two different syringes again and I think she is learning the position she has to be in for shots. She was happy and then I turned her to the side towards the nurse and she started screaming before anything even happened. She has never done that before! She also cried for the longest time she ever has after the shots were over. It made this mommy very sad! :( It has to be done though, so much better than actually getting RSV and her ending up back in the hospital.

Offically Crawling

Lauren is officially crawling! She has been really close for the last few weeks. We were actually at the doctor's office and she was up on the exam table and decided to take about 3 crawls to the doctor...not to mommy or daddy...to the doctor! What a show off! I just stood there with my mouth open and started to tear up. The doctor just said "uh, yep, she's crawling!" That was on Tuesday 3/16 and now she is even better at it and getting more speed I might add. She also weighed 16lbs 15.5oz and is doing great! The doctor said she is right where she should be for her adjusted age and is starting to even surpass on some milestones. Go Lauren Go!
These pictures were taken at our friends Meghan & Eddie's house. We try to get together for dinner every once and a while. Lauren loves to watch their son Diego run around and play. They have lots of fun together. It's really cute when Diego says "baby Lauren." I don't think she will every rid of being called "baby Lauren." That's just what everyone calls her.
Above are Lauren & Diego.
Another picture of the two of them. I think we might have some trouble on our hands in the next few years. ;)
I took this picture with my phone after one of Lauren's baths this week. She was so happy in the bath (like always) and she was extra smiley so I took the picture to send to Adam while he was working. Her smile will sure brighten up your day!

Sitting up/crawling

Adam took this picture while I was at work and sent it to me on my phone and I fell in love with it. One of my favorite pictures of Lauren. She gets up on all 4 four's all the time. She is so strong! She also is constantly on her hands/knees rocking back and forth. She is soooo close to crawling that we can barely stand it...well...maybe we want her to wait a little longer because it will be crazy having a mobile baby in the house! ;) She actually seems fairly mobile as it is. When she wants to get somewhere, she just rolls until she gets there. It's pretty cute to watch her in action.

Notice Cooper's nose in the picture? (Near her face) I think that if Lauren had to pick a best friend right now that sadly, it wouldn't be me or Adam, it would be Cooper. You can tell how much they love each other. Lauren gets nose to nose with him and talks to him and eventually almost always starts to laugh at him. I need to catch it on video--it's priceless. He is so gentle with her and seems to have to be in the same room with her at all times. She has pulled on his fur and ears before and he just sits there and lets her do it. He also loves to take his toys over to her with hopes that she will throw them for him. No such luck yet...but in a couple years I'm sure they will have hours of entertainment of her throwing the ball and him chasing. I can't leave our other dog Sadie out. She is also very gentle and loving with Lauren--just not constantly by her side like Cooper is.

Lauren is also working at sitting up on her own. She is able sit up for 20-30 seconds if we sit her up. She also likes to try and sit up from her hand/knees. She doesn't quite get all the way up yet, but leans to the side on one hand. I just haven't got a picture of that yet.

She is so talkative and babbles all the time. She is such a happy baby almost all the time. It seems like people are always telling us how lucky we are because she is so happy.

She is such a good napper and night time sleeper too. She usually goes in her crib anywhere from 7:30-8:00ish and wakes up around 6:30-7:30ish. She pretty much always just babbles to herself for about the first 30-40 minutes. It's nice that she can entertain herself. Sometimes the babbling doesn't last quite that long if her diaper is really wet or dirty though. She rarely wakes up in the middle of the night. Sometimes she wakes up and talks herself back to sleep and sometimes she's screaming because she has a burp that we didn't get out or a dirty #2 diaper that needs changed. We're so lucky to have such a great sleeper.

Lauren had her RSV shot on 2/25 and she weighed 16lbs 7oz. :) She eats baby food twice, sometimes three, times per day and has 4 bottles per day also. She loves carrotts and applesauce the best and she loves her snacks of the biter biscuits.

She likes to watch Dora the Explorer or Go Diego Go. Those 2 shows are the only ones that she will stop what she is doing and actually watch and smile at. Must be all the colors and the songs. She loves when we sing the "Rescue Pack" song from Go Diego Go to her. She gets a huge smile and laughs.

We did experience Lauren's first little cold. I was super scared and afraid of her ending up back in the hospital. She was very congested and we had to use the baby booger sucker (bulb syringe) constantly, but she did great. She never had any changes in her breathing, (believe me I was watching carefully) no fever, no changes in how she ate, no diarrhea, and no changes in the amount of wet diapers. She slept a little more but that was it. She did however manage to pass the cold to Adam and I. We felt horrible (congested, horrible sore throat, upset stomachs) and then I felt even worse for how Lauren had been feeling. We didn't really know just how bad she was probably feeling until we experienced it for ourselves. :(

One thing that I love right now is that Lauren smiles back and imitates things we do to her. She is just adorable and I can't believe she is almost 1 year old. She's 9 months actual age and 6 months corrected.

She still is impressing her doctor's. The doctor who saw her for her Neurodevelopmental follow up said she was shocked when we walked in the door. She said that after reading Lauren's chart she wouldn't expect her to look this great. We still do stretches for her neck and thighs and we will see the Physical Therapist and Neurodevelopmental doctor again in June.

This little girl never ceases to amaze us.

More Silver Creek Falls

Not too sure about this whole hiking thing...
She's pretty sure it's going to be okay...
Still thinking about it though...
Oh yeah it's all good!!! Happy girl!

We're Back!

So...first off, I must apologize for how long it's been since I last wrote an entry. Time has just been flying by and we've been keeping pretty busy. And I must admit that I want to spend my time playing with Lauren or holding her while she naps (because that will be over before I know it) than sitting on the computer. How can you resist that face anyway...

We took Lauren on her hiking trip to Silver Creek Falls on 2/3/10 and she seemed to love it. She really likes to be outside. We don't take her out a lot for fear of her getting sick, so she's a pretty happy girl to get outside of the house. Here are some pics from our outing.
She was trying to make us think she was going to cry and then ended up smiling with her paci in her mouth.
Lauren was very talkative when we got back to the car.
Silly girl in Daddy's hat
Daddy & Lauren--my 2 favorite people!

I'm still not the best when it comes to using blogspot--I will make another post with some more pictures from our trip.
