Back on CPAP

Lauren was placed back on CPAP on Wednesday morning. We're very excited about this, but know that going back to a ventilator isn't ruled out either. We are learning that having a micro preemie is such a 2 steps forward 1 step back ordeal. Lauren is still tolerating her feedings well, although she is still not gaining much weight. Hopefully that will begin to change soon. She is still on Insulin for her blood sugar, although they haven't been running too high. They took her out of her little burrito plastic wrap today and wrapped her in a blanket. She's so cute all wrapped up in it. At our visit today, I was able to change her diaper and take her temperature. I also got to spread Aquaphor all over her. The aquaphor just acts as a nice barrier for the skin and all the tape & bandaids that are constantly coming off. It also helps keep her skin from getting too dry. It was so nice to be able to rub it all over her. I had to make sure to cover all of her, so she got a mini massage by her mommy already. :) The doctor spoke about starting kangaroo care (holding her tummy to tummy) in the next few days as long as she is stable enough to be moved. We are so excited about this! It will be so amazing to hold her. As for today's picture, our good friends Angie & Brandon Hanes, gave Lauren a stuffed German Shepherd. We have 2 German Shepherds since they are such good guard dogs. We took "Charlie" up to act as Lauren's guard dog. Thanks again for everyone's love & support.
